Hello Work – #Ourstory

It all started in 2018 when Founder, Hilda Joubert, visited a coworking space in Cape Town. It was at that moment that inspiration met innovation shortly after, Hello Work was agile to enter the coworking market and swift to open its doors in April 2021.

After lots of research and testing the idea with local businesses, friends and family, she realised that Stellenbosch is a great place to open a coworking space – to serve all the dynamic and innovative startups that emerge from this beautiful university town, surrounded by vineyards, lots of local artists and comprises of a relaxed, creative environment.

In 2020, businesses were faced with economic challenges in the onslaught of the Covid19 pandemic and office space rental were one of the first aspects that were put under scrutiny.

Elements that came under dispute were the uncertainty of long-term leases, accessibility to security, and an increase in overhead expenditures including reliable internet services and general office consumables, like printers. This could be challenging for any entrepreneur still trying to find their feet where any extra expenses needs careful consideration.

The pandemic has left businesses facing not only economic challenges but also having to adapt to the new “normal”, working from home. WFH proved itself as a suitable alternative to a formal office. In addition, employees also value the flexibility thereof and Hybrid-working conditions also emerged.

This was one of many reasons why Hello Work opened its doors. This innovative concept, sold as a ‘plug-and-play’ office setup, provides a space for startups and entrepreneurs with the flexibility and a cost-effective alternative to traditional office space. Hello Work prides itself in offering month-to-month, fully furnished office space that includes all the services you will need to run a successful business – without the hassle.
