In the midst of the Covid-19 worldwide pandemic, when the personal services industry faced unprecedented challenges, a story of resilience and passion unfolded. Meet Pink Lotus, a nail salon that rose from the ashes of uncertainty, turning a devastating setback into the realisation of a lifelong dream.
It’s a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together
How did the idea for this nail salon come about, and what inspired it’s creation?
I was working at a well-known Nail & Beauty salon since 2018 and was devastated when our sector needed to close amidst COVID-19. After 3 months of not seeing any clients, the president opened up the sector again. On that evening, just after I heard this wonderful news, I received a call from the owners of the Salon to inform me that they won’t be opening up again. As the head therapist, I was heartbroken to lose the job I loved.
Since I was a young girl, age 6, my dream was to one day open up my own salon. I wanted to make my own decisions and do what I love. From that moment, I knew I am going to follow my childhood dream.

What do you think sets your NAIL SALON apart from competitors in the industry?
At Pink Lotus we look at much more than just your nails. As a sole therapist, you will get a personalised service with focus on you and your nails specifically. Situated on the outskirts of Stellenbosch, my clients come from as far as Cape Town and Franschhoek to experience what I have offer.
If you feel like you want to do the final file stroke or cut off that irritating cuticle yourself, feel free to ask me. I also don’t mind if you would like to watch a series, or need an ear to listen while I do the magic on your nails. As long as you enjoy the ‘me-time’ and leave satisfied with beautiful nails you can boast about.

What do you believe is the key to YOUR success?
Our perfection to detail and professionalism. We offer a safe space for our clients where they can feel comfortable and relaxed. At Pink Lotus we will never try to sell you products unnecessary – neither force you to make the next appointment immediately. We understand that life is difficult and very expensive.
Treat others the way you wanted to be treated, with that, a lot of success comes your way.
Are there any upcoming nail trends that you are excited about?
We like to offer a wide variety of nail designs, arts and trends. Nail trends never actually come to an end, they just keep gaining popularity. Our most popular at Pink Lotus at the moment is classic red nails, French ombré, classic colour French and white and unicorn chrome nails.
What future plans do you have for PINK LOTUS?
Our commitment will alway lie in nails – both providing top-notch services and educating our clients on the best practices. Seeking advice on nails? You needn’t be a Pink Lotus client; we’re here to assist anyone. With over a decade of industry expertise, we’re dedicated to offering our support at all times.
Pink Lotus also offers lash extensions, lash lifting as well as the basic lash tint, and brow tint and shape. We also offer the Medi-Heel callus removal treatment for all those dry heels after this extremely cold winter.
As a qualified makeup artist, a big passion of mine is also permanent makeup. If there’s enough interest in it, I’ll surely delve into exploring and offering those services. It’s always exciting to expand my expertise!
